iwoca | London

Senior front-end web developer & engineering manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Worked on a large greenfield React / Redux (Sagas) project building new account pages for iwoca customers.

My main responsibilities were incorporating iwoca's lending API to facilitate customer workflows like drawing down and repaying loans. Building and maintaining UI components, being responsible for the core CSS strategy as well as writing and maintaining 100% test coverage on the project using TDD methodology.

  • Took over as technical lead on iwoca's Gatsby / Contentful powered website to deliver high level structural changes to the codebase to improve bottlenecks for both developers and content editors, while making performance improvements to the website as a whole.

  • Worked on the strategy for the website and closely with the analytics and research teams to make informed decisions on the future of the product. Used a combination of qualitative and quantitative data to help deliver AB tests as well as to concept new ideas to increase traffic and conversion.

  • Navigated the marketing tech team through a large pivot after iwoca became an approved lender for the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme. During this constantly changing time I was resource gathering and making new tech / business decisions daily.

  • Helped shape the customer product strategy by researching and documenting ROI positive problems for the team to work on. Latest project has been around reducing the churn of iwoca's customers.
